Sarah's Living Collage
I recently came into possession of a bunch of French magazines from the early 70s and have been very inspired by them.
These days I'm always inspired when I look around my room because I have yellow walls.
My living collage is a collection of inspirational images that remind me of my inner self and reflect my current creative mindset.
Collaging was my first artistic love. The medium coincides well with my style because it looks authentic in the way the pieces come together to make a cohesive image.
Hanging art from inspirational artists is an easy way for me to express myself in my space. Since I was young I've had a very curated visual taste, starting with learning about impressionism in art classes when I was little.
Digital collaging is a way I like to document the world and life around me. Through images of specific material objects, I believe we can create a memory box of an era.
In college, I helped found "Mod-Podge", an artist collaborative.
We work together to create an open and welcoming space of empowerment for artists and learners seeking connection in our community.
One week we visited the library and worked with an archivist who studies zines to access her collaging materials and create together.
