Flyer for "Probably OK"
Being sought out by clients who know my work and want a deliverable made in my style is an ideal situation for any designer but is not always the case.
The opportunity to be creative in my own style allows me to make my best work.
This flyer for the band Probably Ok's debut performance was a hell of a fun time to make.
I used some of my classic techniques including hand-drawn elements, newspaper clippings, and items or stickers that I have in my personal collection of "stuffs".
As one who highly values aesthetics I always keep things around me that I find beautiful which then can lend themselves to my production process. For instance, this teddy bear sticker I found in my parent's basement that is now on my journal, or the clipping of a birthday cake shown in the following designs that I snagged from an old French cooking magazine I thrifted.

My process for creating this flyer started with a conversation with the client. I asked them for the copy and a sense of the desired style.
After asking 2 or 3 questions the client said they wanted the vibe to be "Light colors, busy, and cute". From these guidelines I created a rough draft within the day.

This project took me two days of work to complete.

Once given the okay on this concept I finished the flyer and this second image was my first final product.

The feedback from the client was...

"Do you think you could add some layered images maybe around the edges?"
"Also maybe changing the background to a warm color would help the green band name stand out more. The first version of the name looked really pop-y!"

After applying these critiques the final image was the final version of the flyer and the client was satisfied!

The Band later asked for me to make a design suitable for T-shirt printing!

Here's a photo of the finished T-shirt.
